A Reiki session in Istanbul with me is a holistic energy practice that accompanies the body and the mind as they return to their own balance. I offer individual Reiki healing sessions in my space in Kadıköy Moda, in person or online; sessions are available in English as well as Turkish and Spanish. You can read how Reiki energy works on my What is Reiki page.
How Is Reiki Done? How Does a Session Unfold?
I begin every session by talking with you; together we listen to what you need. This opening conversation is itself part of the healing, and it deepens with every session. Together we follow the traces of what you carry, moving gently through its layers, back through the years, sometimes as far as childhood, to the quiet places where old wounds and weights have been waiting, often without your ever knowing they were there. What is seen in that light begins to soften; what does not belong to you begins to leave. Where the root of a pattern lies deeper still, we also work with subconscious programming, which I explain below.
When our conversation comes to its natural end, you lie down comfortably, and I invite your body into relaxation with the sound of the quartz crystal bowls; afterwards I position my hands close to your energy centres and channel the Reiki healing energy. Throughout the session I work over the chakra centres, supporting your energy balance; your only task is to give yourself permission.
Reiki embraces the person as a whole, in their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers. If there is a physical complaint I particularly recommend working face to face; however, for emotional and spiritual healing, distance Reiki works through the spirit body, recognising no distance.
For those who wish to learn Reiki, all the details are on my Reiki training page.
Subconscious Programming in a Reiki Session
Some patterns do not yield to willpower. We understand them, we decide to change them, and yet the same thought, the same feeling, the same reaction keeps returning, because its root lives below the conscious mind. In my sessions, where it is needed, I work with a Reiki symbol called Sei He Ki: the key that opens the door of the subconscious. Through that door we reach the patterns of thought, emotion and energy that the conscious mind has struggled for years to change, and we transform them far more quickly and gently than conscious effort alone ever could. I explain how this works in detail in my article “Subconscious Programming with Reiki”.
Holistic Healing, the Natural Way
It is accepted that physical ailments first show themselves in the emotions and in the spirit, and that when the conflicts in those layers do not settle, they pass into the body. For this reason Reiki works not only with the symptom but with the source itself; when emotional and spiritual imbalances are healed in time, they may never descend into the body at all.
The nature photographs on this page were taken by me over the years. The Mother Earth bond in Reiki Gaia’s name is not merely a name for me; it is a way of life I also look at through my camera. Just as nature unfolds without force, so Reiki flows.

Reiki’s Soft and Powerful Method of Healing
Reiki is powerful but does not force. Like the unhurried turning of the seasons it advances slowly, surely and lastingly. It is known as one of the energy practices with the lowest likelihood of a healing crisis; after sessions most of my clients describe a marked lightness and calm.
Reiki as a Support to Medical Treatments
Reiki can accompany all medical treatments and causes no harm. In treatment processes it opens space for the body to relax and for its self-repair capacity to be supported. Like dandelion seeds: once you have released your intention for healing to the wind, you watch in wonder at all the places it reaches.

The Benefits of a Reiki Session
Coping with Stress
Most of my clients come to me with an intense mind. Reiki’s calming effect makes managing daily sources of stress easier and raises the quality of life. For those working at a demanding tempo, the sessions become a genuine space of renewal and of gathering energy.
Clearing the Way for Creativity
We all come into this world with certain gifts to give; yet most of us are taught at a young age that these gifts are not ours to discover. As the energy blockages dissolve, those suppressed channels open once again. I have witnessed it many times in my clients and students: one returns to writing, another to music, another to a dream postponed for years. And you — what is waiting in your dusty box? I told the story of the barriers before creativity, and how Reiki transforms them, in my article “Discover Your Creativity with Reiki“.
Release from Emotional Hunger and Addictions
When a person is unable to freely express their creativity and feelings, the energy that accumulates within may be pushed down rather than expressed; this is where addictive patterns can begin to emerge. Eating episodes, cigarettes, screens… the visible habit may differ, yet the source is most often the same: an emotional hunger waiting to be filled. Reiki works not with the symptom but with the hunger itself; as the person builds a bond with their own essence, the need to fill from outside diminishes by itself. I explained how Reiki can support healthy weight loss and freedom from addictions in my article “Emotional Hunger and Addiction“.
Self-Discovery and Clearing Energetic Stagnation
In the healing process you come into connection with your inner world and notice the points where your energy has become blocked. Like a stream softening the stones before it over time, when the energy begins to flow again the emotional burdens dissolve as well, and you begin to look at life with fresh eyes.
Reiki and Meditation
When joined with meditation, Reiki works even more deeply; access to the spiritual dimensions becomes easier and the mind grows clear. In my sessions I use the two together, naturally intertwined.
In Which Situations Does Reiki Offer Support?
The question that comes to me most often is this: “Is Reiki good for …?” The word written into the blank keeps changing: anxiety, depressive periods, the grief that follows the loss of a loved one, separation, fears, obsessive thoughts, scattered attention, emotional eating… My answer is always the same: Reiki works with the energetic burden itself that lies beneath all of these states.
On the emotional layer, it accompanies grief, separation, and long-carried sadness and pain as they move into flow within a safe space. On the mental layer, it opens room for anxiety, fears and obsessive thoughts to loosen, for the mind to remember how to fall silent again. With deep relaxation the nervous system finds balance and attention gathers. On the bodily layer, it can be received as a complement to every kind of medical treatment; it supports the body’s capacity to repair itself and its overall endurance.
It is also supportive in eating habits rooted in emotional hunger and in the process of healthy weight loss.
Whatever situation you are in, I shape the session according to your need; if you have an ongoing treatment, we plan the process so that it accompanies it.
You can read the experiences of my clients on the Reiki reviews page.
Sound Healing with Quartz Crystal Bowls in the Reiki Session
An important part of my sessions is devoted to sound. The vibration of the quartz crystal bowls prepares the body for deep relaxation before we pass into Reiki; as the resonance spreads, the mind falls silent of its own accord. You can find the details of this work on the Sound Healing Istanbul page.
Reiki is not a religion; it is a spiritual practice and stands against no belief. You do not even need to believe in Reiki to receive its benefit; it is enough to set an intention for healing, and the energy takes care of the rest. Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a Reiki session last?
A session generally lasts 1 to 1.5 hours; the length may vary according to your need and the theme we work with.
What happens during a Reiki session?
First we hold an in-depth opening conversation; session by session this conversation deepens, tracing the roots of what you carry, sometimes back to childhood. Where it is needed, we also work with subconscious programming through the Sei He Ki Reiki symbol, transforming long-held patterns of thought and emotion. Then you lie down comfortably, and sound healing with the quartz bowls follows, and afterwards the Reiki hand positions; by working over the chakra centres, chakra balancing and the flow of energy are supported.
How many Reiki sessions will I need?
It depends on the person and the theme. Some of my clients feel relieved with a single session; in some situations I recommend several sessions, and the process is planned personally for each person. Each session builds on the one before, travelling a little deeper.
Who is a Reiki session suitable for?
It is supportive for everyone experiencing stress, mental fatigue, emotional intensity, physical discomfort or energy imbalance. It requires no belief and can be received at any age.
Can I have my Reiki session in English?
Yes. I lived in England and Spain for twenty years; I hold sessions comfortably in English, Turkish and Spanish. Many of the people I work with in Istanbul are English speakers living in or visiting the city.
Is a distance Reiki session possible?
Yes; Reiki energy can be applied independently of physical distance. I explained the details on the distance Reiki session page.
Is Reiki good for anxiety and depression?
Reiki does not diagnose and does not take the place of psychological or medical treatment; but by providing deep relaxation it supports the balancing of the nervous system. In times of anxiety, fear and depressive periods, many of my clients describe a marked lightness after the sessions. If there is an ongoing treatment, the sessions are planned to accompany it.
Is Reiki good for physical illnesses?
Reiki can be received as a complement to every kind of medical treatment and causes no harm; it opens space for the body to relax and for its self-repair capacity to be supported. It does not replace medical treatment; it is a supportive practice that accompanies the treatment process.
How much does a Reiki session cost?
There is a standard session fee; every session receives the same full length and attention. For current prices and available times, you can reach me through the contact page; if you wish, we can begin with a short introductory conversation.
